CNC Files to Create your own Parallel Guides for Festool and Powertec Rails - Digital Download ONLY - Requires Additional Hardware

PLEASE read the whole description!

This is a digital download only. You are not getting anything physical shipped to you.

Create your own Parallel guides for Powertec Rails. If your saw works on these rails, it will work with these guides. Requires additional purchases of the Incra T-Track Plus “dual t-track.” You will need two in order to fully function. You will also need some ¼-20 nuts and bolts to put it all together.
Links in Description File included in download

You will get: Carbide Create Files in version 6 and 7. These files will allow you to cut the needed items out on your CNC.

BONUS: For a limited time I’ll be including the knobs you see in the photos. It is also in a Carbide Create file and fits on ¼-20 hardware.

You will also get a highly detailed document about the CNC files and the guides themselves. I’ll also go over how I dialed in the set to cut accurately.

You can download Carbide Create for FREE. It works with Windows and Mac. You can look at the toolpaths and export the SVG’s if you need to. Then load the SVG into your software of choice and reference my toolpaths.

You will ALSO NEED TO purchase Incra T-Track Plus rails. Links will be provided. They are available at Woodcraft and Amazon.

Lastly, you have to supply some hardwoods to work with. FLAT, SQUARE, hardwood!!! Start square, end square. I used hardwood but you could also do it with Baltic Birch plywood. I wouldn’t use anything else. Ok, it really doesn’t need to be square since the CNC is cutting out the part in the middle of the stock. You get it though.

You need 1” thick material as well as ¾” thick material.

Parallel guides allow you to setup repeatable cuts that are the same. If you need to cut up some plywood for drawer parts, cabinet sides, etc., the parallel guide is a great companion to your track saw. There is just one problem…. they are expensive! It’s a little crazy to think that you paid all that money for a track saw setup and can’t afford the accessories, but the costs do add up! If you are a pro it may be worth your time and money to invest in the high dollar units but if you are a “garage shop” kind of person like me, these guides work just fine.

A lot of guide manufacturers include or you can buy a small width cutting helper to use with the guides. Not with this guide. Your minimum cut with this system is the rail width plus the size of the block that attaches to the rail. That’s about 9”. So, your minimum cut is 9”. If you need smaller widths for drawer pieces you make the cut at 10 1/8” and then take that to the table saw and rip it in half. You now have 5” drawer parts!

This system is a bit of a time investment. It’s so much cheaper than the “real” systems and it's also very satisfying and fun to create.

This project is a Medium on the difficulty scale. I’m pretty sure since you have a track saw and a CNC you can handle it. Your CNC needs to be cutting well. Your parts need to come out square! The system will also require some calibrating. The expensive ones do too though!

Personal use only. Not a commercial product meant for sales on Etsy or elsewhere.
Do not share or sell these plans or cutouts produced by these plans.
Digital download only. No product will be shipped to you.

If you have other rails and you would like to test this for them send me a message.

All Updates included! See included documentation.
